corrupted mov file

I have one file on my harddisk that I need to repair. It got corrupted because somebody (violently) pulled the cables (both) out of the NanoFlash. Is there any possibility for recovery? I can see the shot when I play back in Movist. But I do not get the sound. I use a Mac. Thank you for your help!
By the way the NanoFlash must be very solid built because it survived this attack. The cables broke, the Nano stayed intact.

Re: corrupted mov file

Hello Roelf,

Feel free to contact us directly, Support | Convergent Design

but was there audio present in the previous files?

and was it just at the end of this file that the audio goes away?

If you copy the file to a Compact Flash card will it play out of the nanoFlash with sound?

As for recovery of the file, you may be able to run KLIX on the original Compact Flash card, use the Recover Function, that may be able to remedy the file.

Also if you have the original Compact Flash card, and it has not been formatted, we may be able to recover the file as well.

Best Regards

Re: corrupted mov file

Thanks, I am going to try if the file will play out of the Nano. I did not keep the corrupted shot on the CF card. I will have to copy it back to a CF card and then see what happens. It is only the last shot that is corrupted. I need to fix it so I can use the picture to show the police who my attacker was. Filming is an exciting business...
It is amazing that Movist is able to show the picture. But it does not play the sound. I will work on this and keep you informed.

Dear Roelf,

We will do our best to help recover the file.

You may need to use our File Converter to copy the file back to another CompactFlash card.

I will send you a private email.
