Look what the FedEx man delivered!
I've been asked to start testing a Convergent Design Gemini. So a nice little flight case full of goodies arrived today. It's only pre production firmware at the moment so not everything works, but I'm off to shoot some footage with my F3 and start testing the full end to end workflow.
I'll keep you posted and get some clips online for you to download in the coming days. Please bear with me as I'm about to leave for India (shooting in Mumbai and then Broadcast India) so there might be a short wait for the clips. First impressions out of the box are very good. The screen is very bright and clear. I can even apply LUT's in the Gemini so I can use either 4:4:4 S-log with a LUT on the F3's LCD and monitor out, or I can use the monitor out as a 4:2:2 S-Log out and apply a LUT on the Gemini. I know the slightly thorny issue of only being able to get S-Log + LUT via 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 monitor out has been discussed elsewhere, but the Gemini gets around this issue very nicely making 4:2:2 S-Log + LUT very simple to do with no need for adapters or converters. So... off to shot those first few clips.
