nano3D
Dear Friends,
I received this letter from one of our nano3D customers this morning. I also received permission to post this from Sean, so here it is. Hi Dan, Greetings from Vancouver, Canada. It was great to finally meet you at the NAB earlier this year. Just a reminder, we're the production company that bought a pair of your Nano Drive for a 3D episode of our documentary television series called "Blowdown". The hour long program follows a team of explosive demolition experts as they prepare and eventually implode the iconic Fonte Nova stadium in Brazil. I just wanted to let you know that the 3D version has recently been acquired by Discovery Channel's 3net and will be having it's world television premiere in 3D this coming Sunday, August 28th. Please see the attached press release. Here's links to some clips in 3D: It would be greatly appreciated if you could forward this info to your industry contacts via blogs, forums, and/or the appropriate section in the Convergent Designs website. Let me know if you would like any productions stills. If it's useful for you at all, here's my testimonial: We're proud owners of one of the first set of Nano3D drives. We purchased them for 3D acquisition of an episode of our television series called "Blowdown" which documents explosives demolition experts as they implode iconic structures around the world. During our initial tests, our team was very impressed not only with the size and functionality of the recorders themselves, but also with the support we received from Convergent Designs staff to address early issues with the firmware. They answered my calls well after business hours and rushed our team newly re-written firmware update in less than 12 hours. Truly amazing! We then used the Nano3D as the primary recorder for our custom stereoscopic rig and operated them in extremely hot, humid and dusty industrial conditions everyday of our month long shoot in Salvador, Brazil. I'm happy to report that the Nano3D drives worked flawlessly and provided the stable and high quality footage essential for our 3D production. We're now using our Nano drives to shoot all our projects, whether in 2D or 3D, with various cameras and rig configurations. The system is rock solid ! Many thanks. Sean F.
