Re: Gemini 4:4:4 Mechanical Spec's

How is the schedule for delivery? When do think you will have your first batch of 1000 units? Will the Gemini do time lapse and picture cache like the Nano?

Re: Gemini 4:4:4 Mechanical Spec's

Dear Michael,

We are on schedule for our goal of initial shipments of the Gemini 4:4:4 in August 2011.

We are recording and playing back:

4:2:2

4:4:4

Dual Stream (two independent, but genlocked cameras, recording two independent video streams)

We already have quite a lot of our 3D option already working.

In our lab we brought up our first menus on Thursday. We have been working on the menu's for months, but using a simulator that we built.

Please understand that we have lots more to do, but we are making great progress every week.

Initially, our plans are to record in the DPX format which is widely supported.

Yes, we plan on doing time-lapse.

I do not know if we will be able to do "Record Cache" or not.
We have not promised this feature.

You have done the right thing, getting on a pre-order list, in order to get one of the first units.

We will start out building hundreds a month, not thousands.

Please feel free to call me. I am traveling this week, so please use my mobile number.

By the way, I don't know if someone has already posted this, but Rick Young from MacVideo made an interview of Mike Schell about the Gemini 4:4:4 during the NAB. It can be seen on MacVideo - Camera Technology - Interviews - Convergent Design: Gemini 4:4;4 uncompressed recorder
