CF card 2 has wrong clip number.
When I went to dragged the clips from my CF card (2) into the edius bin I noticed the first clip number was Z1001001.
The last clip number on CF Card (1) already in the Edius bin is Z1937001 The next clip on CF Card (2) should have been Z1938001. I was able to get it sorted in the correct order on the Edius Timeline BTW. It was a bit of a shock at first glance, I thought the clips on the CF card 2 were missing but glad to report all was there but jumbled up a bit. What do you think happened? Thanks in advance. |

Re: CF card 2 has wrong clip number.
Hello Anthony,
This may have been as simple as a sort on your CF folder by the OS, the nanoFlash always records files and clips in sequential order even across multiple cards. If you set the viewing option to sort by date created, you will probably find the files back in the order in which they were recorded. Best Regards

Re: CF card 2 has wrong clip number.
Hello Andy,
I went for Sort > Start Timecode and that sorted it into the correct order but why was it not in the correct order in the CF 2 Card? I've copied clips to Edius before that have spanned over to the next CF Card and they always stayed in the correct order/sequence. Thanks Andy. |

Re: CF card 2 has wrong clip number.
Hello Anthony,
It sounds to be something produced from the OS. Maybe by the Auto Loader when the card was inserted? What OS are your Running Windows XP? Windows 7? Best Regards

Re: CF card 2 has wrong clip number.
Hello Andy.
I'm using Windows 7. This hasn't happened before. Is there any way of viewing it on the NF, to see what order it takes there? Thanks Andy. |

Re: CF card 2 has wrong clip number.
Hello Anthony,
Unfortunately, You cannot view all files at once, and since there is a software bug, which always defaults to the first file recorded when you go to playback, it would not be a solid test. I will try to replicate this with our Windows 7 Machine, But keep in mind I have noticed different behaviors if you browse for your CF card via Start>Computer>CF Card, as compared to the auto Launcher, Since you can set default behaviors for specific devices, such as viewing options, such as bit rate, date created, date modified. With either Method. So it could be something involved with that, So I will try to replicate this today. Best Regards

Re: CF card 2 has wrong clip number.
OK Andy, thanks.
Strange, its only happened this time. I can go to other CF cards that i have copied to my PC and the clips are in the correct order when spanned to CF Card 2. Thanks Andy. |

Re: CF card 2 has wrong clip number.
Hello Anthony,
So I have done a test to see if the autoloader would bring up a different sort order then going the full path, and it does with the same card, So if you go the full path and tell it to sort by the name largest to smallest or click on the tab above file name, it will do this for each time the card is inserted, and you go threw computer to see your files, If you use the autoloader, it will always come up with the names smallest to largest, So if you typically use the auto launcher but that one time had to browse for the files, that is a possible scenario of why the file would be arranged in a different order. Best Regards
