Just wondering how close are we to the latest version of the Nanoflash firmware moving from beta to finished product. Thanks Roman

Dear Roman,

Three Hours and 26 minutes, or less.

We will be posting new firmware for the nanoFlash, Flash XDR, and nano3D today.

Our goal is to post it by Noon, Mountain Standard Time, Today.

We are puttting some final touches on the release notes and documentation then our goal is to post the three releases this morning on our website.

Downloads | Convergent Design | Professional Video Recorders and Converters

Notes:

1. We will be posting these as Public Betas. However, we have been very happy with the reliability of the last Public Betas. In fact, we have been privately recommending that 1.6.226, our previous Public Beta, as suitable for production work.

There were a few issues that we addressed but most of them, if I remember correctly, were not issues that caused reliability issues.

2. The Flash XDR release does not yet have our "Screen Tally" working.

3. The nano3D release now supports using the Record Button to go into "Record Ready" mode, and the recording will start when the Remote Control switch is pressed.

And the Play Button puts the nano3D in "Playback Ready" mode so that the nano3D will start Playback when the Remote Control switch is pressed.

At this time, there is a 20 to 25 second processing time when switching into Playback mode (nano3D only).

Thus, one needs to press the Play button, then wait the 20 to 25 seconds before pressing the Remote Control.

Of course, this delay is unacceptable to us and we are working to eliminate this delay.
However, we wanted to release this nano3D firmware due to the other improvements that we made.

I expect Tommy to post information about the new releases in a few hours.
