Dear Ian,

Thanks, it is good to know that you are running our 1.6.29 firmware. This is our latest production level firmware and it is use in thousands of nanoFlashes. This firmware came out in June and by now we expect that a majority of nanoFlash users are using this firmware,

We have a tool built into the nanoFlash which allows you to save all of your menu settings to a CompactFlash card.

Please format a CompactFlash card, first save any files that you want to keep that may be on the card.

Then, go to System|Create Settings.txt, then press the right arrow, then press Ok.

This will create a Settings.txt file, a file that lists all of your settings.

Please email that file to me at

CDSupport (at) Convergent-design (dot) com.

This will allow me to troubleshoot all of your nanoFlash settings and setup without the "interrogation" that Luben mentioned.

Without knowing how your nanoFlash is setup, it is difficult to troubleshoot the problem.

"Thanks Dan

First the crackling appears on both my EX1+3 both audio from the cameras monitered vi headphones is ok

Just done a test with the EX3 and nano the audio recorded on the nano is slowmotion with some crackle

on the card in the camera is fine

The camera is recording at 1080 / 50i on the nano the audio is set to IN EMBEDDED REC CHANNELS 2 and MONITER CHANNELS 1+2 1080i 50 at 140mbs."

8. When you monitor the nanoFlash's headphone output, while recording, do you hear any crackling?

9. When you playback the recorded files in the nanoFlash, and monitor using the nanoFlash's headphone output, do you hear any crackling?

10. Are you reporting that you have problems with audio when playing back in an NLE?

11. If so, what NLE?

12. Is the video clear and free of any artifacts?

13. What CompactFlash card brand/type are you using?

Hi Dan

Just played the nano vi hdmi to my hdtv and guess what it plays fine no sound distortion, my editor is a casablanca S2000 so it sounds like there is a problem there, the video is fine and the cards i use are Sandisk EXTREME 111 30mb/s and sandisk Extreme 60mb/s so after all this its the editer at fault

Many thanks Dan what a great backup and product

Ian

Crackling Audio

Hello

Also It is good to keep in mind that USB cannot support playback of 180Mb(s)

We find here that anything over 50Mb(s) will at some point have crackly audio or will play "Jumpy"

If played using a USB CF Card Reader, Since it simply cannot handle the constant bandwidth,

Simply to verify if it is the reader, or the file, copy it to the desktop and play it in the same editor or viewer,

Best Regards
