No picture!

My Nano has been working beautifully but...... Just switched on and changed from Long Gop 100 .mov to same but mxf and now I have audio but no picture. Have checked bnc cable from EX1. Have gone back to default and reset but all with no luck. Must be finger trouble - but where?

Dear Bruce,

Do you have a frame rate display at the bottom on the nanoFlashes LCD, such as 1080i59?

Do you have any characters displayed on the LCD?

Do you mean that their is no picture on the external monitor attached to the HD-SDI output?

Dear Bruce,

I have alerted our European Distributor, Symbiosis.

Where do you have "no picture". Is it in your Non-Linear Editor, or the live or recorded HD-SDI or HDMI output of the nanoFlash?

Thanks Dan for your contribution. I apologise for not being more precise. My Nano will not go into record mode when using last TC. Checked video in and out and it is not present but the embedded audio is ok. Have checked video with a monitor and pictures are not present. I am shooting on HDCAM tape today but will investigate tomorrow and contact the distributor if not solved.

Dear Bruce,

Thanks for the update.

It could be that your monitor does not support progressive.

What frame rate is the camera outputting?

You should try enabling Video|E to E Direct.

Do you have Video|Record PSF>Prog(ressive) enabled?

If so, you may need to have Video|E to E Direct enabled to send a PSF signal to your monitor.

I have now used the Nano with another EX1 and all is fine. The E to E setting had changed - finger trouble? Will have original EX1 back tonight so will re investigate again but obviously the Nano is A1, I am sorry to have doubted it. The pictures we are getting with the Nano across a range of cameras - standard def Digibeta SDI, and high def EX1 and HDCAM makes the product an excellent investment.
