Is this normal?
Hello Dan,
The link below is from your earlier post on other thread and I link it here again for an easy visual for anyone else.... Media | nanoFlash | Video Recorders and Converters The question I have for you is this: I have several SanDisk Extreme III 32GB cards and they do work with 180 Mbps without any problem! Is this normal? Acording to the link above they should not work with that rate and do work only up to 140 Mbps. The weird thing is that some of them (not all) do work with 220 Mbps too. The same ones do work at 280Mbps for a some time and at some point show a msg that the card is to slow and NF does automatic switch to 220 Mbps and stay at that rate to the end of the card. No loss of material. I do have several SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB for 280 Mbps. Please do not take me wrong, I like it, just wondering is that normal for the NF and/or the CF card Cheers |

Dear Luben,
We have a huge buffer in the nanoFlash. This is a First In, First Out Buffer (a FiFo Buffer). Thus, initially we are writing to the buffer, then we immediately start writing to the card from the buffer. For short takes, our buffer may not fill up, even if we are writing to a slower than necessary card. But, for longer takes, the buffer will fill up, thus forcing us to put out the "Card Too Slow" message. The other thing is that not all cards, even legitimate cards, same brand, same type, may not have the exact same circuits inside. Manufacturers tend to change the circuits in the cards over time.
