Dear Ramji,
Yes, the HDC950 has HD-SDI out, SMPTE 292M, we should work fine with this camera. It would be easy for you to prove this with your nanoFlash when you inspect the camera, if you are able to inspect this camera in person. http://ws.sel.sony.com/PIPWebService...20brochure.pdf

Dear Ramji,
FYI, the nanoFlash is being successfully used with the Sony F35 on a US television series for a major network.

I think the HDC950 and a nanoFlash would make for a very nice system.

One thing it won't do though is the full 1080/60P 444 that you get with HDCam SR (and which the HDC950 is capable of I believe). You'll be limited to 720 if you want 60P, and it'll always be 420.

Dear Steve,
When I read the specs of the camera, and double-checked the SMPTE 292M, there did not seem to be any provision, in this camera for 4:4:4, or 1080p60, or Dual-Link HD-SDI. 4:4:4 or 1080p60 both require Dual-Link or 3G HD-SDI, neither of which is included in the 1.485 Gbps SMPTE 292M. Maybe the Sony specs were out of date.

You read correctly; as I recall, one needs a Sony HDC1500R to do dual link (or 3G).

Sorry, I was thinking of the HDC1500, and other SR cameras like the F23 and F35.
