720p29.97/25/23.98 Suppport
The next firmware beta will include 720p29.97/25/23.98 support for all the various bit-rates. Note that FCP does not have a built-in selection for these formats using the XDCAM HD 422 CODEC. However, we are told that you can create your own template and change the frame rate (for example 720p59.94 to 720p29.97). Does anyone have any experience with this modification?
Also, we do not know how well these rates are supporte in Avid, Edius and Premiere. Again, the issue revolves around the XDCAM HD 422 CODEC. We do realize that these rates are widely supported in other CODECs. All new firmware releases will be first made available for beta testing. We will place a prominnent notification that this firmware is not for production use, only for test. Only after a successful beta test (as well as our internal test) will the code be moved to the fully released status.

Hi Mike,
Thats a great new. When going to SD 720p24/25/30 are perfect. No problem to edit it, at least in FC. Thanks God, we do not depend anymore of locked "Capture Presets". Thanks for adding it. Cheers, rafael |
