Once the MXF format is compatible with optical media, will you also be able to AMA it in Avid MC? Are you including the same metadata structure as on an SXS card and XDCam optical (which is what AMA uses)?
I can imagine this being a big boon for ENG - give the editor the card, no ingest, just edit. Make sure you have backups though :) |

Hi,
We do not include the xml metadata into our MXF files at this time. It's something we can conceivably add. I'm not sure how Avid's AMA will react to our files - the best thing to try would be to dump one of our sample files into their folder structure off of their PDW-700, for example, and see if Avid recognizes our file. (You may have seen the other thread where the sample file was posted: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/converge...st-sample.html Their AMA won't take our files as a standalone file, but possibly embedded in Sony's file structure.
