nanoFlash Power Supply Advisory
Dear Friends,
With 4-Pin XLR Power Supplies, there is an absolute standard that everyone uses. With 4-Pin Hirose Power Supplies, there are multiple pin-outs that are in use. Sound Devices and others use Pin-1 = Ground and Pin-4 = Positive. Convergent Design and Toshiba use Pin-1 = Positive and Pin-4 = Ground. The nanoFlash is protected from reverse polarity for short durations. We recommend that you use either one of our power supplies or power cables, or ensure that you are using the correct power supply and cable. You will damage the nanoFlash if you repeatedly apply improper power to the unit, or if you leave the improper power connected for more than a short time. This damage is not covered by our warranty. If you plug in a power supply and the nanoFlash does not turn on, please unplug it immediately. Also, if powering the nanoFlash from a helicopter, please ensure that the power is within our voltage range, 6.5 to 19.5 VDC. Standard 28VDC power in a helicopter will not work, but 12 to 14 volt helicopter power will work.
