Dear Jonathan,

If you are using external timecode, connect it via a BNC cable to a BNC "Tee" or "T" or "T Adapter", then connect one end of the "T" to one Flash XDR, then the other part to another Flash XDR.

If you need to connect more than two Flash XDR's together, just use more T's.

Here are two examples:

ARM Electronics | BNCT BNC Adapter | BNCT | B&H Photo Video

Comprehensive | BT 75 Ohm Male BNC to Two BNC Female | BT | B&H

Please note that our timecode input is high-impedence which allows this to be accomplished.

Please do not use a "T" with HD-SDI signals, but it is perfectly ok to use this with timecode signals.

If you do not have a timecode source, one nice way to generate timecode is with an Ambient Lock-It box.

If you need to attach one Flash XDR to each of two cameras, and they can not be connected via any cables, then you may consider using two Ambient Lock-It boxes.

If the Flash XDR's can be connected together, the simplest and lowest cost way is to use the "T" mentioned above.

time code

When can we expect to have TC out on the XDR and also a regen facility?. It would be useful to be able to TC lock the XDR to another camera (or visa versa) without having to leave the TC cable plugged in.

Dear Chris,

The Flash XDR can generate internal timecode.

We plan on implementing Jamsync soon.

Please note that if you are using multiple cameras, and they need to be sync'ed together, we recommend using Genlock on the cameras.

Also, the Ambient Lockit/Clockit boxes are great for locking everything together.

We are also working on another solution to set our internal time-of-day clock very accurately.
