Laptop for editing files from Flash XDR

Hi all,

I have orderd the Flash XDR and going to use it with my new EX3. I plan to use the 100MB option as I would like to get highest possible quality.
My question is what laptop is the best for my needs.

Thanks in advance !

Hi Ofer-
Which editing system are you using (Final Cut Pro)?

Hi Mike,

I don't have any editing software yet so I guess this should be included in my question...(-:
I will only shoot and edit footage obtained using the Flash XDR at 100MB.

Thanks Mike !

Hi Ofer-
I understand from John Richard that Edius now supports the 100 Mbps 4:2:2 MPEG2 natively. Currently neither Avid nor FCP have support for the 100 Mbps rate, but they do support the 50 Mbps level. We are working with both companies to support 100 Mbps. It's not a big development effort to increase the bit-rate since the CODEC is the same in either case.

So, to answer you original question, I would get the fastest laptop your budget will allow. More memory and fastest hard-drive are always a plus.
