Converting Neo HDV to mpeg 2
I am a Vegas/NeoHDV user who just got the Bluray authoring application Roxio HDVit Pro HD.
If I render a Cineform master, I can load it into DVDit Pro, but with the following two limitations: 1/ I can't preview it in the final Bluray disc form. 2/ DVDit Pro HD gets the aspect ratio wrong and will render it as a 4:3 frame with pillarboxes on the sides. Those are the negatives. The positive is that the DVDit Pro HD mpeg2 render is at least four times faster than if I did it in Vegas. I'm sure this is because HDit Pro uses Directshow instead of the slower VFW approach of Vegas. Anyway, this has me wondering two things: 1/ If Somehow Cineform and Roxio could get together for more compatibility between the two apps? or alternately: 2/ If there is an inexpensive app that could do a high quality directshow Cineform to mp2 (bluray/HD-DVD compatible) conversion at a similarly quick speed? Because of Vegas's smart-rendering of Neo-HDV files, my Cineform masters render pretty darned fast. It is the renders into final formats that take forever. |
