Apple Quicktime?
As 2006 rapidly grows to a close and Q4 comes to an end we haven't heard much regarding the Apple Quicktime version of Cineform.
Are there any updates to be had? |

Getting MacOS QT support out is one of our highest priority items, although admittedly we've had a lot of high-priority items lately.
I'll also admit that the MacOS QT work has taken longer than we originally expected, and in fact I think we told people we hoped to have something in 4Q. The extra time it has taken has nothing to do with the codec per se - in fact when running on Intel processors (Windows or MacOS) the main algorithms run identically. The issues have been dealing with the vagaries of QuickTime wrappers and FCP interfaces which we weren't originally experts in. The good news is that there is substantial progress being made, and (fingers crossed) we may have a public beta to play with some weeks into the New Year. |
