ITU601 or 709 Colorspace?
David,
Cineform AspectHD literature (PDF) says that the HD100 utilizes ITU601 colorspace. However, I am under the impression that on many threads here it has been a "given" that it is 709. Can you clarify this for me? I believe this would affects everything I have been reading in terms of the camera parameters and test results. Tim Dashwood beleives that the JVC literature says it is 601 for DV and 709 for HDV, but AspectHD PDF (page 18) says otherwise. Thanks, Luis Otero |

The early HD1 and HD10 cameras are 601, HD100 is 709. Which document says the HD100 is 601? We will fix that.

AspectHD User Manual (page 18)
David,
The AspectHD User Manual (the PDF file that comes with the zip file) in page 18 says "Because JVC HDV cameras use the 601 color space, the CineForm 720p project preset will default this setting to OFF". Hope this helps, Luis Otero |

Yes, clearly (to me) that line was written before the release on the JVC HD100. We get that changed, hopefully in the next release.
