Activate old Cineform licence
Hi,
So a long time ago I was a Cineform Studio Premium user (and very happy with it). I've been on the Mac side for a few years in Final Cut but now have a need to do some Windows editing. I know Cineform no longer exists but can I still activate a version to use the codec and First Light using my old license? How would i go about it? Thanks

Re: Activate old Cineform licence
Not sure about the First Light. I don't think the Activation server for that is still running. Any software that utilizes VFW codecs (Video For Windows) will see the Cineform codec if you install it. You can install it by installing GoProStudio. The best version to use as it creates fewer problems on uninstalling is GoProStudio-v2.5.7.549. Hunt around the web for old versions of GoProStudio and you should find it. If you get stuck PM me. I'm using it in Resolve 17 and Vegas Pro 18 for both playback and encoding with no issues. Being Wavelet compression it's still one of the best codecs out there.

Re: Activate old Cineform licence
Thanks Chris.
I did find an old install package of Neo HD on my NAS and installed that after I wrote the OP. It works great and includes First Light but it is running as a trial and with no way to use my serial number to activate I fear it will all be over in 15 days. Chris, I had a quick look for that version and did find the GoPro page with the download link but it appears to be dead. Is there a link you can recommend ? Cheers

Re: Activate old Cineform licence
Gerald. Yes, that's the problem I had with First Light. Two weeks trial and it was gone. I haven't tried GoPro Studio 2.5.9.2658 but you could give it a go. It can be downloaded from here:
https://www.techspot.com/downloads/6...ro-studio.html Techspot are a pretty reliable outfit. I don't use the modern GoPro Studio versions at all. They are installed just to get the Cineform codec onboard. Failing that PM me and I can upload v2.5.7.549 for you. See how you go mate! Chris Young |
