If you are using components shipped with Premiere PRo 1.5.1 only then no; those components are much odder and not threaded for dual core processors. If you are using Aspect HD or Connect HD then yes, all the new encoder and decoder compoents exploit hyperthreading, multi-core and multi-processor systems.

Ooopss! I made an error. The Aspect HD playback threading is on the timeline only, it is Prospect HD that has a new threaded decoder than does multi-core processing even within media player. The new decoder will ship in the next release of Aspect HD. Please enable email services through this forum so I can email the new decoder, or email me (through the forum) as I have you beta test the new Aspect HD decoder.

This was discussed not that long ago in the following thread:
http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=52264 Download the following registry controls to get smoother (albeit lower resolution) playback from Windows media player software. http://www.cineform.com/downloads/PlaybackControls.zip |
