Image look mismatch with original material!
Hi,I have a strange situation right now.I have a project shot by RED.I use Neo3D to convert my clip to CF422 for my edit.but the converted clip's look do not match the original. My original material's Color Space and Gamma Space is REC 709.I have some attachment to show the original and the converted clip.In Firstlight the clip's thumbnail looks right. Please check it.Is there anything wrong with my setting?any help will be appreciated.
PS:I use Remaster convert my clip to ProRes,the converted clip looks right. Last edited by Ivan Liao; October 28th, 2011 at 05:47 PM. |

Re: Image look mismatch with original material!
We don't use Red's baked in color. We develop the image flat, and reapply curve and white balance. This is better for feature work where dynamic range is of the most importance, but more odd for broadcast markets. It seems if the white balance is wrong, so adjust than in First Light.

Re: Image look mismatch with original material!
Thx,David.I will try it later.
David,I follow your instruction, import the converted clip into Firstlight. Then I unchecked the white balance in Firstlight,my converted clip looks right. But strange,my another project shoted by RED didn't looks right. These material's Color Space and Gamma Space is REDColor and REDGamma.Still don't know how to make it looks right. Re: Image look mismatch with original material!
The is no correct look, you change the image however you like. We don't apply Red image processing, it is just a look on top to the raw image data, we start with the raw data rather than correction on top of the Red's looks.
