After Effects render HD> DV gamma shift

AE CS5
NEO
(I would use remaster - however I need to render out a DV clip with multiple clips spliced together - so I require a timeline to do this).

Rendering out a DV version of a 2k cineform si2k clip.

Noticing large shift in gamma when rendering out a Quicktime DV-NTSC version of this clip (DV is not cineform codec).

any idea why this is?
