April 6 Mac Betas
New Mac betas.
This release has an upgrade to the codec which fixes some low-level issues and adds a number of performance enhancements. This fixed the gray bars in the framing mask again. Also new in this release is the support for 3D camera that record in side-by-side mode. These sources can be used as 3D sources by setting the "Decode as" setting in the Workspace panel in FirstLight. http://www.cineform.com/downloads/Ne...07b-110406.zip http://www.cineform.com/downloads/Ne...07b-110406.zip http://www.cineform.com/downloads/Ne...07b-110406.zip |

Re: April 6 Mac Betas
BUG REPORT:
FIRST LIGHT 5.3.10.87: Thumbnails not appearing with SI2K footage- they are jumbled pixelated thumbnails. REMASTER: Importing multiple SI2K clips (over 70+) causes remaster to 'stall' or freeze during the import. Workaround - I have been importing 50 clips at a time. ALSO: I don't know why - but converting to pro RES HQ - sometimes it converts at 4fps, sometimes at 9fps.. what determines this? how can I get faster encodes? |

Re: April 6 Mac Betas
1) Been fixed since that build.
2) Report to support. 3) Don't use ProRES ;)

Re: April 6 Mac Betas
1) when will that build be released? I just installed the april 6 mac beta and that is the build it came with.
2) ok. 3) Client requires PRO RES for editing. They have all their other footage converted to PRO RES, and final cut pro does not handle PRO RES and CINEFORM on the same timeline. They Requested PRORES because they had problems with multi-resolutions on the same timeline using CINEFORM. |

Re: April 6 Mac Betas
The ProRes encodes require either v210 or r4fl as the source pixel. r4fl is slow to generate. The encode does use the QuickTime compressor features to thread the encode, but ProRes tough to encode.
What is the source? |

Re: April 6 Mac Betas
cineform si2k RAW FS2 source.
also software crashes if i bring in a dpx along with the si2k and try to encode. also software crashes if I bring in more than 70 clips and try and encode (tempermental) sometimes works, sometimes crashes. Restarting the computer after a transcoding session seems to help. |

Re: April 6 Mac Betas
First Light
1. Playing to a second display stops the playback in the first display. 2. Using the display settings in the toolbar dont work. Only the menu in "View> Second Monitor" works. 3. No overlays at all |
