Sony Z5E, Vista 64 Home Premium MPEG
Hi all,
I've been trying to test Cineform products and I am having a great deal of difficulty. Basically, I'm shooting with a Sony Z5E and a Sony FX1. I shoot in 1080i50 and capture using Premiere Pro CS5. I'm running Premiere Pro CS5 on a Windows Vista (64 bit) Home Premium edit box with a decent hardware spec. The problem is that a clean install of Vista 64 won't play my CS5 captured HDV MPEG files through Windows Media Player 11. Why is that a problem, you ask? Well, my testing indicates that Cineform won't convert my HDV MPEGs unless Windows has the right codec. Unless I can view the MPEGs in WMP11, Cineform won't work. However, it seems that Vista 64 doesn't come with the right codecs. What this ultimately means is, in order to run Cineform on Vista 64, you need some kind of third party codec. I've tried it with a clean install of Vista 64 and also after I installed CS5 Production Premium. I can play my MPEGs in their respective HDV PPro projects, but not in WMP11. So does anyone happen to have a HDV capable edit box running only Vista 64 that will play CS5 captured HDV from a Sony camera? If so, how? Kind regards, Andrew.
