AVID MC and cineform
just got a job doing some color grading for a studio that uses Media Composer 5(ish)...
they will likely want to preserve their timeline with my corrections...and final output from their avid system...i will grade the files at my studio not using MC a lot of it will be basic so First Light might be all I need...(plus rendering speed) i just have to convert their files to cineform (mov likely) 1.I used to be an avid guy, but i switched to Adobe years ago....so what I need to know is how would they be able to import my cineform generated files, and use in there project....would the NeoPlayer be enough? Any pitfalls i should know (re-linking media ect?) 2. tougher one....Not sure if this is possible....but is it possible to change the active metadata on a system without first light installed....example....I make an initial color grade in first light....deliver the cineform files....the producer asks for a change....i correct on my system, and email them the changed metadata.... Last one is probably not do-able with licensing and all...but wow....that would be the Holy Grail for alot of my gigs....and cineform is the only one even remotely close to having that....(i suppose red-cine could ..on strictly red files) |
