First Light - Feature Request - playback speed
A counter saying what speed the clip is playing back at would be helpful.
After Effects has something similar in their INFO panel. QT player shows this info in their INFO. Thanks! |

I can almost guarantee your playback speed is 12 FPS. =)

Ive never been able to get SI2K footage to playback faster than 12FPS. Does not matter if its FS1 or FS2. Something about the debayering that needs to take place makes it impossible to playback in real time. If I run it through Remaster and refine the footage I can get 24FPS but I think the RAW status is lost at that point.
I would love to actually see someone playing back a CineformRAW file right off the camera in real time. I've seen framecycler do it with an SIV file and a Quadro 5800 but thats a whole other workflow. ***Edit*** SiliconDVR can give you realtime playback but it is also using the framecycler engine and is not giving a full resolution image... |

FirstLight uses the QuickTime playback engine which does not thread at all well. It is possible to play back 2K RAW source real-time if you have a playback engine that threads.

Re: First Light - Feature Request - playback speed
Which playback engine do you suggest for real time playback Craig?
