AVCHD - Capture or convert?
Hey people, I've got an older avchd cam -Sony SR8 1440x1080 HDD, I dont use it often, but it is handy for family stuff with the 100gb hard drive.
My question, is there a downside to using the HDMI out, into Blackmagic Intensity and capturing with NeoHD into Cineform codec? as compared to, Dragging the AVCHD files on to PC first and converting with hDLink? Would quality be better or worse? Are 2x Raptor hard drives in Raid 0 fast enough for Cineform encoding? I would have thought so, but I seem to get "frame holds/pauses" every min or so doing this. Interested in your thoughts.
