Cineform PC to Mac workflow
So i cut my film in premiere cs4 with cineform AVI clips.
Now I need to move the project to Final Cut for various reasons. First off, can I do this? and if so, could anyone point me to a guide that shows how to go about it. Thanks. |

AVI do work as is in FCP, but FCP is not ideal with AVIs. You can also rewrap AVI to MOV, in both PC and Mac versions of NeoHD or better.

Is it my imagination or was Cineform offering a free license for MAC use along with the purchase of Neo4K. I am also trying to move my project from PC to MAC and I am having a hard time figuring out the workflow. I'm not using FCP, I'm still staying within Adobe. I guess no need to re-wrap to MOV? Can I create a trim project also so I don't have to bring over all of my media? Because some of my clips/files are over an hour long and I only have 4-5 minutes used from each. Also, assuming I can use Cineform on my Mac, do I get a new serial number or just use the one I was given for the PC?

Sorry, that was a deal when we first launched on the Mac 2-3 years ago. You can transfer you license from PC to Mac (with support's help.) And if you ask nicely to sales you should be able to score a discount on the Mac license of Neo4K. Note: We are only a few weeks away from beta CS5 Mac support, which will enable AVI and MOV CineForm editing, so a rewrap is going to be optional. NeoHD/4K/3D supports rewrap on both platforms. You could also just use NeoPlayer on the Mac is decode only is all you need -- in that case rewrap on the PC first.
