Cineform 24p HDV capture question
Hello
New, Using Sony FX1000 set to 24p mode with Cineform Neo4k and HDLink to capture video stream via firewire. I understand selecting "remove 3-2 pulldown" on HD Link and Aftereffects cs4 recognizes the video stream as 23.976 progressive. Editing no problems, looks great. Question. Is there a way to tell if a tape was recorded in 24p mode or 60i mode. Some of the tapes I have are not clearly logged as 24p. I understand that all HDV is 60i so if I have a unmarked tape can I just capture it as 60i and not select "remove 3-2 pulldown" and treat it as HDV60i? I guess in other words if you don't know if a HDV tape has telecine embedded can you ignore it? Thanks everyone |

With HDV (other Canon Pro cameras) 24p can be treated as 60i. Although is it better to remove pulldown if it has it, we can't automatically detect that.
