Updated NEOHD to 5.0.5.264 now First Light Won't Read Cineform .avi's
...maddening. Says can't read file, both exisiting Cineform .avi's as well as ones I just converted with HDLink.
I get the message below. So I also tried CFRepair...couldn't get anything but a message saying I needed an .avi output file... Worked fine until I did the update...any ideas? |

I get the exact same error message here, rolling back to v.5.0.4.261 fixed it.

Please send a sample file to support that will not open in FirstLight.

Dear David, I got the same message as Ken on older files, went back to v.5.0.4.261 like Galen suggested and First Light recognized them all again. It must be a problem with First Light 5.0.5.264.

I had the same problem with the last official release. I had started a trouble ticket, and eventually I was advised of the beta release now up. I was concerned that it was my Magic Lanter captured files that was creating an issue.
On the trouble ticket, I received notice last week that the new beta should resolve the issue. I finally tried it last night. While I am not getting the message reported by the OP, I did try to take a large file I had rendered in Vegas using the Cineform codec back into First Light, and while it would show on the viewer, any changes I tried to make to the file would not show on the viewer. When I would try to add anything, the highlighed area on the file list highlighting the file I was trying to modify would turn from blue to white. Am I mistaken that I should be able to take a file rendered in Vegas using the codec, back into First Light to add cc ?

I just rendered a 1m30s sequence from Vegas and it works in FirstLight 5.0.5 fine. Not seeing any issues here. We need the clips that fail sent to support.

I'm uploading a 10 second sample now to the support ticket I opened yesterday...says it has about 20 minutes left. I just shot it and converted it with Cineform, I still get the same error message trying to open it in First Light.
Well...tried to...after 20 minutes it said the file was too large...how do I send it to you guys at Cineform...? |

Send me the direct link as support in LA today, so I might not see that file into tomorrow.

As well as support. I just happen to be working on FirstLight today, so if I have the link I will test it right now.

I don't know how to send it to you...
I tried via support and it said the file is too big. Is there an email address I should send it to via YouSendIt? |

Patch for FirstLight 5.0.5
Here is it: http://cineform.com/downloads/FirstLightv505patch.zip
Unzip and replace FirstLigh.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\CineForm\Tools (Remove the " (x86)" for the 32-bit systems.) The failure was an overly strict check the CineForm sample header (required to fix a 5.0.4 bug,) plus a typo resulting in no support for I-P encoded files. We've pretty much switched to I-frame only (required for 3D) so we missed this in our testing. All works now, and this will be in the next official build
