When I enable keyframing in the white balance section the red channel automatically zips over to 10000. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm not seeing this error. However, there is a bug in the beta for cut and pasting the white balance, so many you are see that.

I was using clips that I had previously transcoded with codec version 6.0.0.434. I am going to try re-transcoding them with the new codec version number 6.2.1.449. Maybe that will help. Anyway, I'll let you know.

It will not. However, I-frame encoding might. We're investigating an keyframing issue with IP (2 frame GOP) CineForm files.

I have been trying to install a .look file that was sent to me for a project. I presume it's the "Load Snapshot" option, but each time I try to go to "Load" it crashes First Light, before filing a trouble ticket I just thought I'd ask if anyone else is experiencing this glitch.

While it shouldn't crash load snapshot is for something completely different. Just double click on the .look file, and it will be added to FirstLight.
