Got EC_ERRORABORT notifcation - 0x80040228
Thought I would share with everyone a problem I was having. I have been using cineform without problems with several video cameras but several months ago purchased a Sony HDR-XR500. I taped several hours of footage but everytime I tried to import it I would get the 0x80040228 error and only about 15-22 seconds of footage would be transcoded.
I searched through this and several forums and could not find a reason for it. Finally, through trial and error I have been able to duplicate (and fix) the problem. It seems that Cineform hates 5.1 stereo. When I switched the camera from 5.1 sound to regular stereo, cineform was able to transcode and handle it correctly. Sheesh. I don't mind recording in regular 2 channel stereo but it took a LONG time to figure out the problem. Hope this post saves others the same headache. |

Good investigation. You will likely find that you can fix this in the AC3Filter settings panel, we will convert 5.1 to stereo, preventing this error.
