HDLink and AC3 decoding
Is there a way to direct HDLink to use a different AC3 decoder than the one it defaults to?
HDLink is decoding audio on my AVCHD files OK, but not from MP4 clips from my Samsung HMX-100. The Samsung AC3 decoder is on my system, and Window Mediaplayer plays the HNX-100 clips without a problem, but HDLink doesnt seem to be using it. (I tried installing the AC3 decoder linked to on the Cineform site but that hasn't worked) |

try manually registering the mcdaac.ax file. go to program files\cineform\prospecthd (if you have prospect hd) and then double click on the mcdaac.ax file. If promted with a 'how to open this file' dialog, select c:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe.
then try converting again. if it doesn't work open a support ticket and we'll troubleshoot from there: Support Center also, we have new builds coming shortly that should eliminate the need to register this component. |

Thanks Jake. Registered the decoder successfully but it hasn't helped ... I'm reconfiguring things on my systems presently so may hold off filing a ticket until the machines are stable again.

Hi Graham,
Please check the latest betas (posted 9/11/2009 http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/cineform...end-betas.html) as they have improved audio decoding for conversion and solved some previous problems.
