cineform conversion?

Can I use cineform to convert clips into it's intermedairy format if the clips are already captured onto a harddrive?

Thanks!

Another question:

I see that Prospect HD doesn't work with PPro CS4 yet.

Can I start editing my project without it - importing the HDV files into PPRO, and then "convert" these files into the Cineform intermediary format at a later date - and have them then appear in PPRo?

Or will this cause more problems than it's worth?
