5D2, NeoScene and 24p
The other day, I posted some footage for other local film makers to see from my 5D2. A comment came back from one, "Its to bad its not 24p." Recognizing that some customers will want 24p, I follow with this:
I note that Cineform's NeoScene page talks about 24p conversion, but doesn't reference the Canon 5D2 specifically. At one point before I actually got my camera, I had played with some downloaded raw files in Vegas, doing some 24 p conversion within Vegas. I only had NeoHDV. My questions are: 1. Anyone doing what they consider as workable 24p using NeoScene ? If so, what is workflow 2. For Cineform and more technically capable: Has anyone tried capturing at initial converstion to an interlaced file, then converting that to 24p, also through NeoScene--- and would that even work or make any difference.

1) 24p workflows are pretty much out for Canon 5D. You can do a fast conversion by force the 24p mode in Neo Scene, or use the timewarp feature in AE. Good 30p to 24p is compute intensive.
2) does not work. 30p to 60i will look the same, so you are no closer to 24p.

Thanks, Dave. I suspected as much, but I thought I would just be sure.
