Update to Prospect on new PC
Hi Folks,
Will be getting a custom built PC sometime next week, and was just wondering if I should upgrade to Prospect on my old PC, or wait to upgrade on the new PC? I think either way, I need to un-install Cineform so I can move it to the new PC, correct? Thanks,

No you dont need to uninstall, just "deauthorize" ... which leaves the installed software in place.
If I were you I would upgrade now, then when the new PC arrives deauthorize Prospect on the old one and authorize on the new one (it takes only about 30sec, if you have a web connection). That way the old computer is there with Prospect ready and waiting as a backup, in case there's ever an glitch with the new computer. |

Thanks Graham.
I think deauthorizing is a good idea. But, I don't want to hook up the new PC on the web. So I hope to download updates, etc. on a flash drive and upload those on the new PC. Best,

Hi Jeff - the process just involves codes - you can get and enter the codes on one computer that has web access and then manually type them in on another that doesn't.
And updates are simply downloadable .exe files that can be transfered on a flashdrive. |
