24P SD footage on 3 HVX 200's
Hello everyone,
We shot 24P SD footage on 3 HVX 200's. I converted the footage using HD Link to an AVI for use with Premier Pro 2. The footage is now reading as 29.997 fps inside Premiere. My "Frame Rate Change" box was on "no change". So I'm confused. Can I not edit SD footage with CineForm? Thanks, -Dustin |

I have converted HVX HD 720 24p mfx files to Cineform, and maintained the 24p status successfully. My guess is Cineform is not set up to do the same with SD footage as the main point of HDLink/Cineform in terms of HDV is to convert footage frame accurate footage so it can be used in the intermediate editing process so it will stand up to losses that are inherant in editing in HDV. SD codecs already enjoy that level of capability, so converting to Cineform would seem unnecessary. I remember uprezzing from SD with Cineform, and that worked out okay.

Thanks Chris.....It looks like you can do the same with SD too. CineForm responded with:
When you convert the files with HDLink, you need to use the 'remove 3-2 pulldown' option found in the Prefs window. Try that and then your files should be 23.976. |
