Is NEO only needed for conversion?
I'm having problems with Vegas and haven't loaded NEO back onto my clean windows install.
I was wondering if once my HDV files are converted by Neo, do I still need NEO installed in order to edit those files in Vegas? |

I would keep it installed because after you are done editing in your time line, you can render out the file using the Cineform HDV intermediate codec inside Vegas, it gives you some good options and keeps the files small, plus render time is way faster.
I have been experimenting with this exact same thing and have tried various options and have found that for HDV Cineforn seems to be the best way. Im still playing around with it though, Others may have other solutions but I think this is the way I am going to go. Paul Cox |

Files created NEO v3.x requires a version 3.x decoder, Vegas only ships with a 2.x license, so you will need to keep NEO installed to use newer files.
