Matrox MXO2 and Cineform
I have a question.
I own Prospect HD/2K and a new MacBook Pro as well as a Windows desktop. I'm looking at purchasing the MXO2 when it arrives, but was wondering if I will be able to capture to Cineform codec in Premiere Pro on my MBP to QT, then edit in RT on my MBP, or is realtime only available on Windows? I'm still a bit confused on those issues. Thanks, Jim

James,
As of today you cannot capture on MacOS to a CineForm file. All RT capture happens on Windows, although the resulting files captured on Windows are fully MacOS compatible. This will change in the future as we are working to port our Windows software to Mac. In particular we will be able to capture to CineForm files on Mac in the future, but I can't give you a schedule right now. Regarding CineForm performance on Mac, we're actively working on threading right now. We've highly threaded on Windows but not all the threading code is working you on Mac. Hopefully the threading code is only a few weeks away. |

Very good.
Looking forward to the Mac capture AND 'Solid' whenever it is available. Also hoping for SDI instead of HDMI or both on the first go-round.
