Mixing SD and HDV together?

An existing Aspect HD user. I have a project coming up that will predominantly be sourced from HDV tapes (shot with a Sony FX1). However, the project will also need to incorporate footage from some Mini DV tapes shot only in SD.

Using Aspect HD is there a 'real' solution to this. I would prefer to edit a 1440x1080 50i (PAL) project (so that when they become afforable enough I can produce a blu-ray copy) but am concerend about upressing the SD footage.

Initially, I will be producing standard def DVDs and suspect that upressing the Sd footage only to down res it will produce poor quality.

Seriously considering making this a standard def project.

Anyone any experience with similar projects?

Any thoughts welcome
