Beta testing a new Prospect HD/2K & 4K build
Only for existing users who want to experiment with an upcoming version. While there are several small changes, the change we need testing on is an enhancement to the Premiere Pro CineForm AVI exporter. First we need to confirm it works well, but the changes are designed to improve exports of large complex projects and for upcoming 4K projects. Please only test if you have 2GB or more RAM (recommended anyway for large projects.)

What no feedback? Here is a minor update on the beta. Older links above are now invalid.

Haven't looked into TMPGEnc problem, yet. This beta we are not in a rush to release, waiting on more feedback.

More beta builds, this time will a lot more updates.
* Several Enhancement for those using Sony XDCAM-EX camera. * Quality updates * Some new metadata features * Three new utilities with CineForm tools: CFRepair, new versions of DPX2CF and CF2DPX. The DPX conversion tools, now preserve all source DPX metadata. Nice if you want to save space for a DPX archive, compress to CineForm 444, yet if need to return to DPX all you metadata if now save with the picture information. CFRepair is a AVI reconstruction tool for any AVI that die during live capture (lost power or run out of disk space.) For live capture those AVI as the master, so in the extreme rare case something bad happens, this tool should be able to recover all your video and audio up to the end of the file. Where are the new versions of DPX2CF and CF2DPX ? Are they embedded in the Prospect (or Neo) files ? |

Yes, they are embedded in Program Files/CineForm/Tools. There are short-cuts in the StartMenu->CineForm->Tools folder to these new versions.

David.
Curiosity question of low priority. Comment only if you are not under the hammer to get other things done. The XDCAM EX. - Does Prospect have the ability to directly convert and save to an internal drive, the files off the camera or a card reader or would the files have to copied to the computer first for reason of possible corruption of the original files? |

You can convert with the file still on the card, via card readwe, or mounted from the camera, the are no corruption issues. In HDLink just check "Use Capture Location for converted files.", now you can directly convert from camera to any local disk.

David, I have downloaded AspectHDv525b108-080229.zip twice but the file seems damaged, it won't unpack.

The Aspect HD download was a renames .exe, not .zip. Change the name to .exe and that download would work. I've uploaded a fixed archive for Aspect HD so it is a real zip file (old link if fine.)
While must of the new features are in the highend tools, here is the beta for NEO HDV : http://www.cineform.com/downloads/NE...157-080229.zip

Beta, trails and full versions are all the same. If you don't have license it will work for 15-days, decoders are unlimited. Simply download the version you want to try. Remember these are betas, and may have bugs we don't know about.
