Why can't I convert Neo HDV files to DivX?
Just looking for a way to convert my Cineform encoded final renders to DivX using the DivX converter that comes with the player & codec. All my movies are rendered at 1080P PAL using the high quality setting.
I've also tried converting Cineform encoded movies to other formats on my friend's computer running Sorenson Squeeze, and it won't recognise them either. As far as I can recall the error message was 'invalid format' or something similar. Anyway, that's not really an issue, but it would be nice to render them to DivX to upload on Stage6 without having to render them to a lossless format such as Huffy beforehand. I'd render them to DivX straight from Vegas 7 if I could, but that's not possible either.

For Sorenson Squeeze, rewrap your CF AVI's to CF MOV files and then Sorenson should recognize them.
Open a support ticket at www.cineform.com/support/ regarding the DivX issue. I'll download their tools and run a few tests of my own to see if I can get it working. I'm pretty sure I've converted some CineForm files to DivX before without any problems. On the ticket, give as much detail as possible regarding file's framerate, resolution and export settings. |
