NEO HDV and Premiere Project settings
Hello,
I just bought NEO HDV to use with Adobe Production Studio CS3. The question is this. I captured and converted some files to cineform intermediate codec with HDLink. Then I started a new premiere project, but I don't have any preset by Cineform. So I used Editing Mode : Desktop File Format : Video for Windows Compressor : Cineform HD Codec V3.3.0 both Dec & Enc for "Use ITU.Bt.709 [HD] colorspace" and checked "Up convert 4:2:2 to 4:4:4 upon decode" Is this how it's supposed to be? Also, does someone know what do "Fix After Effects" and "Register components" do? They are located in the Tools subdirectory in the start menu. Thanx a lot! |

OK forget about the last bit. It is explained in the Quicktime readme file. If anyone could enlighten me for the project settings bit, I would gladly buy them an ice cream.

That will work, however we do not recommend NEO for Premiere, Aspect HD and Prospect HD/2K are our tools designed for Premiere. We will not get great performance with NEO in Premiere. Aspect/Prospect both add acceleration and the edit mode presets for RT playback, with range for real-time transitions and filters.

Hi David. Thanks for the fast reply.
I know that Aspect/Prospect offer RT in premiere, but I wanted to have the cineform intermediate in my laptop, to edit in Premiere (mostly straight cuts and nothng else) and do colour correction in After Effects. So at this stage I don''t really need RT. One other thing though... why do I get a red timeline when I drop a clip in it? The project settings are as I described, and the avi is Cineform Medium HD. Theoretically it wouldn't need rendering, no? |

As there isn't an editing mode (like Aspect+ only) it will show red. I think the is the standard behavior for third party codec in desktop mode.
