Aspect MOV files in FCP?
Hi, I have Aspect HD and use PPro on a pc, but I just ordered an Intel Mac Pro. My question is, can I capture .mov clips with HD link on the pc, and then import the files into Final Cut? After that, would the workflow be the same as if I had captured the files directly from the cam into the Mac with FCP??
Thanks, Vlad |

Yes, that is correct, MOVs capture on the PC will work directly within a FCP timeline. The freely available Mac decoder will work fine with your Aspect HD files, however you will need a Prospect HD or NEO HD license if you wish render to CineForm on the Mac.

David, thanks for the quick response!
With Prospect HD, will I be able to use it for capture on the mac, or do I always need to capture on the pc (or boot camp) and then transfer the files to FCP? Thanks again, Vlad |

Vladimir, currently if you want to use CineForm tools for capture you'll need to do this on a PC. We will port our capture and conversion tools to Mac, but so far we've been focusing on codec and workflow compatibility first, and I/O plus conversion second. It's also why we give both a Windows and Mac license with Neo HD/2K and Prospect HD/2K.
