CFHD.AVI with QT 7 Player

I am unable to view Cineform AVI in Quicktime Player. Is this an expected limitation?

Marty, on Windows or Mac? I'm playing CineForm AVI files fine in QT Player on both platforms. If you're on the Mac you need to download the latest CF QT codec as we fixed a bug that cropped into the previous build that didn't allow AVI files to play in QT Player on Mac.

Marty, as it seems to be working fine here, so make sure you have the latest QT update from Apple and the latest CineForm QT codec. If you have both and still have problems then you might want to get a segment of your clip to support for us to look at here.

BTW, why do you want to play AVI files in QT Player anyway? Shouldn't you use WMP Classic instead?

Not using for playback... I use Quicktime Pro for creating H.264 clips for clients, so I need to be able to load the clips.

I'm doing a workaround, but it would be nice to save a couple steps.

Got it. If your workaround is acceptable, then great. Otherwise check in with Jake at (support at cineform dot com) and he can help diagnose the problem.

Yeah... Jake was quick to respond. I'm only with Aspect 4. Version 5 is apparently guaranteed compatible..... seems odd though. Did the codec change?

The codec changes almost weekly; it is a constantly growing technology.

Specifically, I meant as it pertains to compatibility with the PC Quicktime Pro.
