preference options in NEO

Are there any help files available describing the various options and how,why to use a particular setting ? I have read about some of the options such as the quality of encoding setting, but what about frame format: progressive, interlaced , or automatic. (I believe I have had this set to automatic with Connect HD.)

Also when would one use the "deinterlace 1080i and dv sources in the Pre-compression filters option ?

I just purchased a Canon XH A1 and upgraded to NEO today.

Thanks in advance for advice.

Cineform info on the Pre-Compression Filters

The De-interlace 1080i material / Re-size Video options are useful if you want to mix video from different sources and put them on the same timeline.

Generally for the XH A1 you'll leave most settings as they are. The only changes I've made are in the Cineform Encoder Options:
- Quality = High
- Enable Smart Rendering = Check
- Frame Format = Progressive (because I only shoot progressive)

regarding frame format: progressive, interlaced , or automatic.

Using Automatic is fine it you don't know for sure, it will select the best frame format to match your source. i.e 720 is always progressive, and 1080 is typically interlaced useless the source is at 24fps (Canon XL-A1/H1), pulldown removal or deinterlace is selected.
