Can the XL1s be used to record FROM a VCR?
I need to edit some footage from some VHS tapes. I know I can send them to a post house and get them transfered to mini DV, but I was wondering if it is possible to use the XL1 as a record deck by hooking up the RCA cables and outputting the VCR signal to it.
Please let me know if it can be done (and how to set it up). Thanks a lot. Annie |

Recording with an XL1S is covered on pages 88 and 89 of the manual. If you do not have a manual, you can download one from Canon here. If after following the manual you still have questions please post back and we'll get you through it. If you have an XL1 you can only record via the FireWire input, not the analog inputs.

Also, note that the XL1s probably will NOT record from copy protected tapes
