Audio 1 and Audio 2 Jacks
I confused ????? I to want a to shot a small short but I need to Know the best Audio set up for it I set Audio 1 to line and Audio 2 to line using 16 bit mode I going use xlr plug in Audio 1 What is the differnence between Audio1 and audio2 ?

Audio 1 You control the master and can pan R and L and in audio 2 you can control independently no master control if that the diff?
thanks to any help that can be given Also when would would you use the gain function what best setting for it fo small short film ?Define gain ?

Mario, you might want to check out the four-part article on XL1 Audio located on the DVinfo.net site. (http://www.dvinfo.net/xl1s.htm) Click on the Articles menu item and then Microphones and Audio. This will probably answer most of your questions.

16-bit mode is audio 1 only. Audio 2 comes into play if you are doing or want to do 12-bit (4-channel) recording.
