What is the DC out Terminal on the XL1 used for?

Hello Mario,
I assume that the "DC Out" terminal you refer to is behind the door at the rear of the handle. If so, it's used to power the XLR audio adapters such as the MA-100 and MA-200 (for the XL1s). It might be useful for other purposes as well, but this is the only one of which I am aware. Not a dumb question at all. Welcome!

Also can be used to power an RFU (RF output adapter) and some of the Canon brand mics.
