XL-1 comfort

Is there any device which will make holding the XL-1 any more comfortable. I have the MA-100 XLR adapter/shouldier pad but I still find myself trying to balance the darn thing all the time. When I add a Frezzi light with battery on the MA-100 it seems to want to fall off my shoulder even more.

Yes. A tripod.

:) Sorry, couldn't resist.

Are you talking about shoulder mount only, or is something like a Steadicam or Glidecam V8 in your budget?

shoulder mount. It's too dangerous to use a tripod when your being shot at.

"Shot at"?! Are you covering weddings in some tough neighborhoods?

Varizoom makes a couple of models of shoulder braces, one of which might be just the ticket for you.

Hum.....helmet cam? That way it leave you free to duck....hehe.
Remember bullets are just high speed projectiles that don't mean to hurt you. they can't turn a corner...well not yet. But they can explode at a distance. Military has some interesting gear.

wait. do you mean that people are taking pictures of you? WOW another reality show called CameraMAN.
where they go after cameramen and try to get them to loose their footing?
